China Portfolio Company Video
A portfolio company video gives investors a clear introduction to a business: what it does, the people behind it and its plans for development. It can support a presentation or investor meeting, combining management interviews with footage of the company’s operations.
Shoot In China helps investment companies produce videos about their portfolio businesses in China. Our Shanghai-based director Matt is from the UK, with a background in news and media production and experience working in China since 2005.

What a Portfolio Company Video Covers
The film should give viewers a clear picture of the business. We usually discuss:
- The company’s key business: what it does and the problem it solves.
- Business achievements and market position, using information approved by the company.
- What makes its products or services different.
- The core team, including CEO, CTO or COO interviews where relevant.
- The development roadmap and plans the company is ready to share.
Interviews, Operations and Company Footage
With this information, our director develops an initial treatment, then works on the script with the client’s feedback. The shot list can connect interviews with footage of staff, products, offices or factory operations, depending on the business.
We aim to keep the shoot compact while allowing time for lighting, sound, interviews and the operating schedule of the company. Confirm contributor availability, location access and any material that must stay off camera before filming.

Review and Delivery
Agree the intended audience, running time, languages and presentation format at the start. For investment-related material, the client should approve the business information, on-screen figures and statements before the final version is released.
