Beijing Fixer Services
Our Beijing fixer services help international filmmakers work with local people, places and production teams. Shoot In China has supported filming across China since 2012, with our company based in Shanghai and an English-Chinese production network in Beijing.
For a visiting director or an overseas producer, the local work can take up as much attention as the film itself. Our fixers and producers handle the conversations with contributors, venues, crew and suppliers, keeping the production connected while the creative team concentrates on the story.

A Local Producer Who Understands the Film
A fixer’s work goes beyond translating a conversation. The role involves understanding why a location matters, what an interview needs to cover and how the local arrangements affect the filming day. Our bilingual team helps explain those needs to the people involved.
For documentary and factual work, support can include local research, contributor communication and help checking background information. Corporate interviews and commercial shoots may call for more coordination around offices, talent, equipment and several departments working together.

Working with Beijing Locations and Contributors
Beijing projects can involve institutions, business premises, cultural settings and public-facing locations. The arrangements differ from site to site. Our team speaks with the relevant contacts, looks into access requirements and keeps the overseas producer informed as the plan develops.
When an idea needs another approach, we discuss alternatives with the creative team. This local coordination helps avoid building a filming day around assumptions about access or availability, while keeping the original purpose of the scene in view.

Crew, Equipment and the Day on Set
We coordinate camera operators, cinematographers, sound, lighting and production assistants, along with the equipment and transport needed for the assignment. A short interview and a multi-location documentary need different levels of support, and our involvement can fit around the crew a client already brings.
On set, the fixer or producer stays in touch with contributors, venue staff and the departments. If an interview time shifts or a local arrangement changes, there is someone on the ground who can respond and keep the rest of the team informed.
Beijing as Part of a Wider China Shoot
An interview in Beijing may be one part of a film that continues into Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou or Chengdu. Our production network connects those stages, with bilingual coordination and a common understanding of the film’s visual and technical needs.
We can also support filming when the client follows from abroad, and help with the footage handoff or post-production. Our Beijing fixer service is there to make the local production easier to manage, whether the project is fully developed or still taking shape. Email: [email protected].
