Shoot In China provides video shooters and camera crews in Shanghai for interviews, corporate films, events and branded content. Based here since 2012, we work with international producers, agencies and companies that need a local filming team for an assignment in the city.

Some shoots need a camera operator for a short visit; others need a cinematographer, lighting and sound crew working alongside a director. Our producers coordinate the people and equipment around the filming, with bilingual support where the visiting team is working with local contributors or location staff.

A Camera Team That Fits the Assignment

An office interview, an event and a commercial scene ask different things of a camera crew. We discuss the visual approach and working conditions with the producer or director, then arrange a team suited to the job.

For a small assignment, that may mean a compact crew moving between a few locations. A larger shoot can involve a director of photography, camera assistants, gaffers, grips and a sound recordist. The roles follow what needs to be recorded and how the production will work on the day.

Interviews, Events and Supporting Footage

We support interview filming with camera, lighting and sound, as well as the footage that gives a conversation its setting: people at work, products, interiors and activity around a location. For an event, the crew works with the production schedule to cover the agreed moments and material for the edit.

When a client or editor is overseas, clear coordination before the shoot helps the local team understand the brief and intended use of the footage. Our producers keep that conversation connected with the camera crew and the people taking part.

Local Support Around the Camera

A filming day also depends on location access, timing, transport and communication. Our Shanghai team can coordinate those arrangements alongside the crew, including enquiries with location contacts and scheduling around contributor availability.

For productions continuing beyond Shanghai, we work with our network in other Chinese cities to coordinate the next part of the shoot. Editing, colour, graphics and subtitles can be included where the project needs post-production support.

Working with Shoot In China

We work with both visiting productions bringing their own director and companies looking for more local production involvement. Our role is to give the filming team the camera support and practical coordination needed for the assignment.
