Camera Crew in China
Our camera crew in China has worked in hotel interiors, busy factories and on the open sea. Since 2012, Shoot In China has supported international production companies, brands and agencies with local filmmakers and bilingual producers, from a single interview to shoots that continue across several cities.
We are based in Shanghai, with a production network in Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hong Kong and other cities. For an overseas producer, that means a team who understands the film they want to make and can also look after the local arrangements around it.
People with Different Production Strengths
An experienced interview crew helps a contributor relax while looking after framing, lighting and clean dialogue. A commercial needs a different working rhythm, often with more departments, controlled setups and close collaboration with a director or agency. Documentary filming asks the crew to respond to what happens in front of them.
We bring together cinematographers, camera operators, sound recordists, gaffers, grips and assistants according to the work. Producers and fixers look after local coordination. A small assignment can stay compact, while a larger film has the departments it needs.
Bilingual Production Around the Camera
Many of our shoots connect an international client with Chinese-speaking contributors, local crew and venue contacts. Our bilingual producers handle those conversations, including the creative intention behind a request as well as the practical detail.
When access changes or an interview moves, the client has a local contact who can deal with the people involved and keep the crew informed. This is particularly useful when an overseas team cannot be on location and needs someone they can speak with directly throughout the day.
Commercial and Hospitality Filming
The Westin film on this page is one example of the productions we have supported. Hospitality and branded work bring together people, interiors and atmosphere, with camera and lighting departments working around the director’s visual approach.
Our support can cover the local crew and equipment as well as production coordination. We are comfortable working alongside an agency’s own director and cinematographer, or arranging a local unit when the client needs the filming handled here.
Four Days at Sea
For the Pyxis Ocean project, our team spent four days aboard the client’s ship, including drone filming on the open sea. It is a different kind of working environment from a studio or an office, and one where the crew has to adapt to the vessel’s operations and the conditions around it.
That experience sits alongside our location and documentary work elsewhere in China. Local knowledge matters, but so does a crew who can respond calmly when the day does not run exactly as expected.
Crew, Equipment and Remote Support
We coordinate camera, lenses, lighting, grip and sound together with the people operating them. Production may also include a teleprompter, monitoring or remote viewing, depending on the assignment. The package follows the scene and working environment rather than a standard list of extras.
For remote shoots, our on-site producer connects the client with the crew and contributors. We also coordinate the footage handoff to an overseas editor, or provide post-production when the project needs it.
Industrial Work and Multi-City Productions
Industrial filming brings another set of conditions: machinery noise, safety procedures, limited access and production lines that continue working while we film. The ABB work on this page sits within that broader experience of business and manufacturing productions.
