Shanghai Bilingual Producer
Our Shanghai bilingual producers work with international agencies, production companies and direct clients filming in China. Shoot In China has been based here since 2012, combining local production experience with English-Chinese communication throughout a shoot.
A producer is often the person keeping an overseas marketing team, a visiting director and local departments working towards the same film. We discuss the creative idea with the client, work through the practical arrangements and stay involved when the production reaches the location.

Budgets and Schedules Grounded in the Shoot
We prepare local production budgets, coordinate suppliers and build the schedule with the director and crew. Camera, lighting, sound, locations, transport and talent all affect one another, so we look at those arrangements together.
An office interview may depend on an executive’s short availability; a factory sequence may have to fit around a working production line. We speak with the company or venue contacts early and bring the answers back to the creative team. If the plan changes, we explain the effect on time, crew and cost before making new arrangements.
Carrying the Creative Conversation
Bilingual production involves more than passing on a literal translation. A lighting reference, a direction to talent or an interview question needs to make sense to the person receiving it. Our producers connect those conversations between English-speaking clients and Chinese-speaking crew and contributors.
That is useful on set, where decisions are often made quickly. The director can discuss a change with one production contact, while the producer works with the local departments and explains any limitations or alternatives.
Local People and Places
Our production support includes scouting, casting coordination, crew booking and equipment arrangements. We make access enquiries for real locations and work with owners, managers and site staff on how filming can fit into their day. Any required permissions are considered for the specific location and activity.
The crew may include a DOP, camera assistants, gaffer, grips, sound recordist, art department or stylists. We arrange the local roles around the people the client already has, whether they are bringing a full creative team or need the filming organised here.
Shanghai and Productions Across China
Our Shanghai base connects with production contacts in Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Qingdao and Hong Kong. A producer can coordinate local units or support a travelling team, keeping the arrangements part of the same project.
When the client cannot travel, we can arrange local filming with remote participation where the location and connection allow it. An on-site producer carries feedback between the client, contributors and crew, then coordinates the footage handoff or the next stage of post-production.
A Producer Who Stays with the Work
We join projects at different stages, from an early idea to an approved treatment and schedule. Our contribution is a local producer who understands the film, knows the people involved and can handle the practical decisions around it.
The client has a direct conversation with the team doing the work, in English or Chinese, from preparation through the shoot and delivery. Email: [email protected].
